Goatary Farm

The Goat Farming Unit at Lokmangal College of Agriculture serves as an important training, demonstration, and research facility for livestock-based entrepreneurship and rural livelihood development. Goat farming is recognized as a profitable and sustainable enterprise that requires relatively low investment and provides a reliable source of income for farmers and rural entrepreneurs.

To promote self-employment and livestock-based businesses, the college regularly organizes Goat Farming Training Camps for unemployed youth, farmers, and aspiring rural entrepreneurs. These programs are designed to provide practical knowledge and technical guidance on modern goat-rearing practices.

The training programs cover various aspects of goat farming, including:

  • Selection of suitable goat breeds
  • Housing and shelter management
  • Feeding and nutritional practices
  • Breeding and reproduction management
  • Disease prevention and healthcare
  • Marketing and business management
  • Economic viability and income generation opportunities

The Goat Farming Unit provides hands-on learning opportunities, enabling participants to gain practical experience and confidence in establishing and managing successful goat farming enterprises. Through these initiatives, the college contributes to rural development, entrepreneurship promotion, and sustainable livelihood generation in the region.
