Horticultural Plantation

At Lokmangal College of Agriculture, the principle of “Learning by Doing” forms the foundation of practical agricultural education. To provide students with hands-on experience in horticultural cultivation and orchard management, the college has developed extensive horticulture plantations across 80 acres of land on the campus.

A wide variety of fruit-bearing trees and horticultural crops have been planted and maintained, enabling students to gain practical knowledge of planting, cultivation, irrigation, nutrient management, pest control, harvesting, and post-harvest practices.

The major horticultural plantations on the campus include:

  • Tamarind
  • Custard Apple
  • Sapota (Chikoo)
  • Mango
  • Amla (Indian Gooseberry)
  • Guava
  • Pomegranate
  • Jamun
  • And several other horticultural species

These plantations serve as living laboratories where students can apply theoretical concepts to real-world agricultural situations. The horticulture farm also supports research activities, demonstrations, and farmer training programs, promoting modern and sustainable horticultural practices.

Through this extensive plantation program, the college enhances practical learning opportunities while contributing to environmental sustainability, biodiversity conservation, and the production of quality horticultural crops.
