Nakshatra Garden

The Nakshatra Garden at Lokmangal College of Agriculture is a unique and thoughtfully designed green space that integrates traditional Indian knowledge with environmental conservation. Based on the ancient concept of the 27 Nakshatras (Lunar Mansions) described in Indian astrology, each Nakshatra is traditionally associated with a specific sacred tree.

According to traditional beliefs, every individual is connected to one of the 27 Nakshatras, and the corresponding tree is considered beneficial for physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. The cultivation and preservation of these trees promote biodiversity, environmental awareness, and a deeper appreciation of India’s cultural heritage.

The college has developed a beautifully landscaped 2-acre Nakshatra Garden, featuring all 27 Nakshatra-associated trees. The garden serves as an educational, ecological, and recreational resource for students, researchers, farmers, and visitors.

Key objectives of the Nakshatra Garden include:

  • Conservation of indigenous and sacred tree species
  • Promotion of environmental awareness and biodiversity
  • Preservation of traditional ecological knowledge
  • Educational and research opportunities for students and visitors
  • Creation of a serene and nature-friendly environment

The Nakshatra Garden stands as a symbol of harmony between nature, culture, and sustainable living, offering visitors a peaceful space for learning, reflection, and environmental appreciation.
