The Tissue Culture Laboratory at Lokmangal College of Agriculture is dedicated to the propagation of high-quality, disease-free plants through advanced tissue culture techniques. Tissue culture involves the growth and multiplication of plant cells, tissues, or organs in a controlled artificial environment, independent of the parent plant.
To support modern agricultural practices and meet the evolving needs of farmers, the institute operates a well-equipped Tissue Culture Laboratory at Wadala. Through this facility, tissue-cultured G9 Banana Plantlets are produced and made available to farmers at affordable rates, helping to improve crop productivity and quality.
In addition to banana plant production, the laboratory is actively engaged in the propagation of:
- Sugarcane
- Teakwood
- Bamboo
- Ornamental Plants
The laboratory plays a significant role in promoting the use of superior planting materials, enhancing agricultural productivity, and supporting sustainable farming practices. By providing quality tissue-cultured plantlets, the institute contributes to the advancement of horticulture and commercial agriculture in the region.
